{"id":150613,"date":"2018-05-24T10:06:54","date_gmt":"2018-05-24T10:06:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.soulcentralmagazine.com\/exclusive-neil-warnock-reveals-cardiff-citys-pre-season-plans-to-talksport\/"},"modified":"2018-05-24T10:06:54","modified_gmt":"2018-05-24T10:06:54","slug":"exclusive-neil-warnock-reveals-cardiff-citys-pre-season-plans-to-talksport","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/soulcentralmagazine.com\/index.php\/2018\/05\/24\/exclusive-neil-warnock-reveals-cardiff-citys-pre-season-plans-to-talksport\/","title":{"rendered":"Exclusive: Neil Warnock reveals Cardiff City\u2019s pre-season plans to talkSPORT"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/talksport.com\/neil-warnock\" class=\"word-link\" title=\"Neil Warnock\">Neil Warnock<\/a> has revealed Cardiff City\u2019s pre-season plans exclusively to talkSPORT.<\/p>\n<p>The Bluebirds won promotion from the Championship by finishing second in 2017\/18, so next season they will be playing Premier League <a href=\"http:\/\/talksport.com\/football\" class=\"word-link\" title=\"football\" target=\"_blank\">football<\/a> for just the second time in their history.<\/p>\n<p>Although his squad are currently on holiday, Warnock has already worked out his plans for pre-season as he prepares to manage in the top flight\u00a0for the first time since December 2014, when he was sacked by <a href=\"http:\/\/talksport.com\/football\/crystal-palace\" class=\"word-link\" title=\"Crystal Palace\">Crystal Palace<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to talkSPORT, Warnock revealed: \u201cPeople said to be \u2018are you going to the Far East or America?\u2019\u2026 I said \u2018no no, we\u2019re going to Cornwall.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have a nice week at home, we have two or three local games. In this case we are probably having five or six with the whole Under-23 squad as well.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe stay at St Mellion, which is a lovely <a href=\"http:\/\/talksport.com\/golf\" class=\"word-link\" title=\"golf\">golf<\/a> resort, and the fans come down in their numbers in caravans and tents for the week. It\u2019s a super week; it\u2019s great for the autograph hunters and we really train well down here.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve got a nice game against a Spanish team a week before the season starts that we\u2019re going to announce shortly, and we\u2019re going to play a couple of clubs further up north as well.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a mixture, but it should be enjoyable for our fans.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Warnock did admit he wanted a friendly against either Celtic, the Scottish champions, or their Old Firm rivals Rangers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI spoke to Brendan, but they start quite a bit earlier [than us]. With Celtic we were going to play them the first week we were back in training, but it was a bit too much.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd Rangers, they don\u2019t know which part of the European [qualifying] rounds [they\u2019ll be in].<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf it went the other way [much earlier], we\u2019d end up playing a reserve team.
