Nabil Fekir could be competing with Roberto Firmino for a place in Liverpool\u2019s starting XI should he sign for the Reds, according to a French football<\/a> expert.<\/p>\n

Fekir has been linked with a move to Merseyside for a fee believed to be in excess of \u00a360million.<\/p>\n

However, despite his clear talents, many are unsure about where the France international would slot into the team.<\/p>\n

Who is Nabil Fekir?\u00a0<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Liverpool<\/a> have been extremely potent going forward, with their front three of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino causing all sorts of problems for defences in the 2017\/18 campaign.<\/p>\n

The Reds\u2019 attack\u00a0used to be referred to as the \u2018Fab Four\u2019, however, that band was broken up when Philippe Coutinho<\/a> moved to Barcelona in January.<\/p>\n

But despite his initial suggestion Fekir could play in Firmino’s false 9 spot,\u00a0\u00a0L\u2019Equipe journalist Erik Bielderman conceded that Fekir playing in the no.10 role previously occupied by Coutinho would be the most likely position for the potential new signing to play.<\/p>\n

Bielderman told talkSPORT 2\u2019s Hugh Wizzy: “We do believe that it [Fekir\u2019s move to Liverpool] is going to happen.<\/p>\n

“I\u2019m not going to tell you it\u2019s going to happen on a very short basis but it should because it seems quite obvious from the Lyon camp and the Fekir camp, Liverpool is really the first choice.<\/p>\n

“He\u2019s a playmaker, he\u2019s a creative player so you know you have to use him in a central position behind one or two strikers.<\/p>\n

“He\u2019s not what he was a couple of years ago. He\u2019s not a right-winger.<\/p>\n

“I don\u2019t know if it\u2019s going to work with Firmino but it could work for Jurgen Klopp<\/a> to use him in that position.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
