Bournemouth have secured the signature of Colombian midfielder Jefferson Lerma for a fee of \u00a325million \u2013 making him the south coast club\u2019s record signing.<\/p>\n

Lerma, 23, has signed a five-year contract with the Cherries leaving Spanish side Levante after three years where he scored three times in 93 appearances.<\/p>\n

Lerma impressed at this summer\u2019s World Cup in Russia and counts nine caps for his country.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cI\u2019m so happy to be an AFC Bournemouth player. The transfer has been very long because it took a while for the clubs to reach an agreement, but the most important thing is that I am here now and everyone got what they wanted in the end.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cherries manager Eddie Howe said: \u201cIt\u2019s no secret that Jefferson has been someone we have chased for a while this summer. It\u2019s been a complicated deal but I am certain it will be worth all the hard work that people have put in to make this happen.<\/p>\n
