The CSKA Moscow midfielder, who has been linked with a move to the Emirates, was involved in three of Russia’s five goals against Saudi Arabia
Two assists and a goal for Aleksandr Golovin sent Arsenal fans wild about the prospect of him coming to the Emirates.
Russia’s young prodigy starred for the hosts as they opened up their World Cup in style with a 5-0 thrashing of Saudi Arabia.
It was his cross which landed perfectly on the head of Yuri Gazinskiy for the tournament’s opening goal and he was at it again 20 minutes later with a delightful delivery for Artem Dzyuba to nod home.
He rounded off a superb display with a well-deserved goal right at the death, curling home a sumptuous free-kick from 20-yards out.
He has been heavily linked with a move to the Gunners after ex-manager Arsene Wenger confirmed he was a fan of the 22-year-old before their Europa League clash with CSKA Moscow in March.
And although Juventus looks like his most likely destination this summer, fans have been urging new boss Unai Emery to follow up on that interest by signing the CSKA midfielder.
