The 29-year-old has become good friends with Mourinho since he took him to Chelsea in 2013
Chelsea winger Willian is hopeful of working with Jose Mourinho again, but for now insists he is happy in London.
It was Mourinho, now Manchester United manager, who brought him to the Premier League from Anzhi Makhachkala in 2013 when he was in charge at Stamford Bridge.
Back then the Blues successfully hijacked Tottenham’s £32million move for him and the pair have apparently struck up a strong relationship since.
And under the Portuguese boss, he won both the Premier League and League Cup.
“Mourinho is the best manager I’ve ever worked with. We have a good relationship, we are friends,” he told ESPN.
“Sometimes we talk, we text, we send messages to each other via WhatsApp. He is a great manager, I really enjoyed working with him. I hope I can work with him again someday.”
The 29-year-old has been a target of Mourinho’s since he took over at Old Trafford in 2016 and there was even rumours of a £66m bid earlier in the summer. Willian, though, is unsure if any formal offers have been made.
“I don’t know if there was any official bid [from Manchester United], but some things have happened,” he added.
“Also, everything comes out on the internet, too. But Mourinho talks to my agent all the time, he says ‘bring him, bring him’.
“No, he has never called me, but he always sends me text messages.
“But I am very happy at Chelsea, I want to stay in the club. I also like living in London, it is an amazing city, and my family is well adapted. So yeah, I intend to stay at Chelsea.”
