Liverpool fans were disappointed when they got a first glimpse of Fabinho in action in that famous red shirt.
The Brazil midfielder, who became Liverpool’s first signing of the summer when brought in from Monaco, struggled in the Reds’ friendly defeat of Chester on Saturday. He failed to impose himself on the game, and his passing left a lot to be desired.
Still, nothing can be read into the first friendly of the season, and Fabinho showed his true quality when Jurgen Klopp’s side played their second preparation fixture on Tuesday night.
The Anfield club clashed with Tranmere, and Fabinho was named alongside Naby Keita and Adam Lallana in a midfield three for the XI for the first half.
