Congratulations to our brother Kendrick for his amazing contribution to this culture and our genre of Hip Hop. I knew from his entry into this platform that he was different and amazingly gifted with words and meaningful metaphors. I knew when I heard his BET cypher freestyle that he’d be the undeniable force that would shake things up.
I am thankful that the Pulitzer Prize Board saw fit to sing his praises, as this could be a great sign for more conscious hip hop to appear from young men and women who are influenced by the intricate works of Kendrick.
We are proud of you and we salute you!
