Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has responded to the speculation surrounding Paul Pogba’s future at Old Trafford, telling talkSPORT: ‘If players aren’t happy, let them go’.
There have been doubts over the French star’s immediate future in Manchester after a poor campaign for the 25-year-old.
The £89million signing – who has been ‘just OK’ this season, according to Scholes – has reportedly been at odds with manager Jose Mourinho this season due to his inconstant form.
Pogba recently refused to rule out leaving the club this summer, telling French TV: “You’re never sure of anything. It depends how it goes with the club, how things work out.”
And Scholes has suggested the club should allow the midfielder to leave if he is not happy.
Speaking to talkSPORT’s Ian Abrahams on Tuesday, the 11-time Premier League winner said: “Once the season is over and players meet up with their international teams there are always some comments made.
“But look, if players aren’t happy, let them go. That’s always the way I feel about it.
“Pogba has been just OK this season for a player of his quality.
“There’s still time. He’s only been there a couple of years and he’s still a young-ish player.
“Let’s hope he produces more of his Juventus form next season.”
