Ayew netted eight times in the Premier League in 2017/18
Jordan Ayew is wanted by both Liverpool and Celtic, who have a ‘serious interest’ in the Swansea forward.
Ayew, 26, scored seven Premier League goals in 2017/18 as Swansea were relegated from the top flight. He is regarded as one of the Welsh club’s best players, and they will struggle to keep ahold of Ayew this summer with only Championship football to look forward to next season.
Interest is expected in Ayew, and he is apparently already being targeted by Liverpool and Celtic; the latter are said to have a ‘serious interest’ in the Ghana international.
This interest is according to Nana Oduro Sarfo, the director of Ghanaian club Berekum Chelsea. He is close to Ayew’s family, and revealed the transfer news during a radio interview.
“Jordan has had offers from several clubs after Swansea City’s relegation last season. He will surely not play in the Championship with them,’ Sarfo told Onua FM, as quoted by GhanaWeb.
“Liverpool has shown interest in him but Scottish side Celtic and their coach seem to be serious with their interest. I believe he may go to Scotland looking at how events are unfolding since they want to meet every demand.
“They speak English just like in England so he can express himself well in there and meet the expectations in the league.”
